The most common form of steam cleaning is usually just a 1 stage process, where the cleaner brings in his machine, fills it up with hot water and detergent, and proceeds to "clean" your carpets

This method employs

  1. No vacuuming first, to remove dry soils.
  2. No prespraying.
  3. No agitation to loosen the dirt particles
It usually just results in your carpets being soaked through, taking sometimes days to dry, and/or left full of soapy residue that promotes rapid resoiling.

This is not the preferred method of cleaning your carpets but is still used by many unscrupulous and ignorant operators today.

At Colonial Carpet Care, Adelaide's carpet cleaning specialists we clean carpets and upholstery to the guidelines set down by the carpet manufacturers and the Australian standards council we use a variety of 5 - 7 stage cleaning processes.

The 5 carpet cleaning methods that we employ cover all the needs of the carpet and the customer. Please click on a method below to learn more.
